My interest in art began late in life...I had taken a class in high school that did not really teach me anything, public school does that, and I continued my education until reaching Chaffey College. There I began taking Art classes to complete my General Education requirement but I found that I enjoyed drawing much more than I realized. I’d always been creative with my words and ideas about life, always thinking, I decided to check out more Art classes except more in line with another interest that I had had for my entire life; Video Games. I took an intro to Graphic Design class well I should say attempted because it was horrendously taught and contested the education I was receiving half way through the semester. Deciding to not sit around and hope that I learned something useful and enlightening was one of the important steps to figuring out the path I wanted to take for my education. The following semester I took the same Graphic Design class with a different professor and that was amazing. He would become a mentor to my education, always interested and willing to give advice for my budding goal of working in the Art field. From then on I tried to do incorporate everything I learned into my pastimes. I not only draw but I write fiction and design worlds. Video Games have always been a release and an escape for the times that I just need a little bit of time for myself. Times where I had so much fun exploring, reading and adventuring. I want to create that same feeling with other people and that’s why now everything I do is leading up to my ultimate goal of designing my own video games from the bottom floor. |
